The M1089 is the Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTV) 5-ton 6x6 wrecker/recovery vehicle variant of the FMTV (Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle) series of US trucks. The vehicle was developed to tow and recover a large number of (mostly) wheeled vehicles, specifically other variants in the FMTV series. To accomplish this task it mounts a 5-ton capacity material handling crane and can tow vehicles with a maximum weight of 25-tons. The M1089 was continuously upgraded, the final one to the A1P2 standard. This variant was also fitted with FMTV armor packages.
